about

Written about one of my favourite books I've read this year, Stephen King's Under the Dome. Its about an invisible dome that falls down upon a fictitious town called Chester's Mill in the states trapping the people in it. The town is a microcosmic version of our planet illustrating how authority can abuse its power over its people forcing them to live in a certain way through fear and brainwashing. Though the novel has obvious references to global warming and pollution, the strength of the book really lies in the power struggle between the people and authority and it really was quite a disturbing and insightful book.

lyrics

Verse 1
No need to despair my love, no need to despair
Watch you from my ivory tower – I’ll guide you from there

CHORUS
Suck you like a leech / Practice what I preach

Verse 2
Let the minions sleep tonight, so peaceful in their beds
For morning brings a full day’s toil / And sheep must be bled

Suck you like a leech / Practice what I preach
What are you running from?
Can’t get far in the dome
This is where you belong
What are you running from? Can’t get far in the dome
This is where you belong, where you belong

I’ll eat your fear (there is no where you can run to)
Just you keep me near (you are just a fish in a bowl)

Verse 3
Let the new borns feed tonight, let the new borns feed
My teat will wean them from their-own thoughts
An army I will breed
